Converting Tadpole Robot to use the crumble

Hello my name is Sean and we teach kids Early Robotics. Currently we are using the Tadpole Robot. Its modified to use the Dagi Micro Magician, Arduino, Micro Min, Microcontrollers. I would like to convert it to a fully fledged Crumble Controller Robot like unto what Complubit is doing with their Robotics. Their is now issue wit having a line sensor and in fact their is a bracket made for bumpers. I am wworried about using these types of sensors with alligator clips. Our goal is to make all of these component even the current motor converted to to Alligator clips so that the students could clip into the Crumble controller. Any suggestions. Thank you.
