Program an output with button

Quite simply.. I want to be able to use a button (A) to set a value – each press of the button increases a value by one.

If I press a different button (B) the program runs based on the value I set with the first button.

I guessed that I should wait for a one button to be pressed to set the value, if not then I should wait for the other button to be pressed to start the program.

I seem to have the ‘program’ button (A) working, but the second button (B) fails to do anything.
